Boyer Takes Over TAoT Leadership

Vic Boyer, President and CEO of the San Antonio Mobility Coalition, is the new board chairman of the Transportation Advocates of Texas. He was one of the founding members of TAoT in 2010 and has served on the board since that time.

The new chairman expects the organization to be particularly active in the next few years as Texas strives to overcome the revenue shortfalls resulting from an economic recession and lower oil and gas production taxes.

Boyer replaces Gary Bushell, elected as chairman in 2019, who found it necessary to resign because of recent health challenges. Bushell, also a founding member of TAoT, was the board representative for the Alliance for I-69 Texas and the I-14/Gulf Coast Strategic Highway Coalition.

Drew Campbell of Dallas is TAoT's chair-elect and chair of the Legislative Relations Committee. Other officers are Steven Albright, board secretary; Anne O'Ryan, vice-chair for financial management; Brandi Bird, vice-chair for research and education; and Andrea French, vice-chair for communications; and Michael Reeves, past chairman (2018-2019).

TAoT has nine regional representatives reflecting the organization's statewide reach. Recent additions to that list include:

+ Jeff Williams, Mayor of Arlington, representing the Tarrant Regional Transportation Coalition

+ Sergio Contreras, President & CEO of the Rio Grande Valley Partnership

+ Desirae Manzaneres, Government and Public Affairs, El Paso Chamber of Commerce
